What is the update bringing us this week?

A fresh new week brings a fresh new update. Let’s get into the (possible) changes of tomorrows update.

The LR300 will shoot a little bit quicker as the firing rate has been increased by 10%. It’s now also skinnable, so expect some new skins for this highly underestimated piece of artillery.

The update will also bring some changes to the loot tables. Helk is getting into several tweaks to balance the loot since the addition of blueprints. After the next update, you won’t find the same of two items on one loot crate.

Ugh.. the player models. We saw that one coming. A couple of weeks ago this entered the staging branch already, but was put back to test since there were some bugs. Now the player model updates have again been merged into staging, meaning it could be added to tomorrows update. At the moment, these hairstyles are not applied by default. Instead, they are attire items, and can only be spawned in by admins. Also, player eyeballs are currently missing, which is pretty creepy.

There has been some work on vehicles. Several types of vehicles will be added to Rust in the future. Vincent is working on a new vehicles branch, and his commits are starting to shed light on some features to expect. There will be a cage module for prisoners and slaves transportation. Also, there will be at least two types of storage modules: a short flatbed and a long flatbed. At the moment, most of the work appears preliminary, so this wouldn’t be added any time soon.

Some blueprint balancing will also be done. A python now requires tier 2 workbench instead of tier 1 and a ladder hatch now requires a tier 2 workbench instead of tier 3. Also, you can now keep crafting items even if you walk away from the workbench. Just start crafting at a bench and do your thing.

That’s it for now, expect more to come tomorrow!
