ANNOUNCEMENT: Rust is leaving Early Access

There we are. Just in 2018, the Rust team decided to leave Early Access in just two weeks. This has some consequences.

Rust-dad Gary Newman posted a blog about leaving EA without any big reveals, launch parties, around the world tours or cash prize giveaways. “It’s business as usual.”

There are going to be some changes however. As of February 8th, the game won’t be in Early Access stage anymore. It has consequences: the price of the game will go up, the staging (test) version of the game will become stand-alone ánd no more weekly updates.

Updates
Updates will not happen every week, instead we will see updates every month. Part of leaving Early Access is making the development more stable. That means that not rushing in features and fixes that end up breaking something else. There will be stand-alone versions of the main branch and the development/staging branch with daily updates. People will be able to test out new features whenever they want.

Price
The price of the game will go up. As soon as the game leaves EA, the price will be $ 34,99.

More about this can be read on the official Rust blog.
