Update 14/12 – Small tweaks to recent changes

We see some small tweaks and changes to last weeks changes in Building 3.0.

Some stability and performance improvements have been made on the new decay system. All entities, deployables and walls were ‘decaying’ at the same time. Now they will decay on each of their own ticks.

Cupboards won’t longer drop the loot inside when they are destroyed. This way raiders will less likely destroy the cupboard because there could be a fortune of resources in it.

Further, we see some welcomed changes to sheet metal walls. You can no longer see through them because the holes in the walls are closed. And new water splash effects are in the making. Driving or walking through water should look much better. This is also for future boats in the game.

Devs are also working on improvements to the AI system. As this is still on another branch, we can’t test this on the staging servers, but one of the things they are actually working on is preventing animals from entering closed doors at monuments. Maybe this also prevents animals from attacking people inside smaller bases.

And barricades can be repaired after the update. Foundations now decay at the same rate as other building blocks when their upkeep is not paid and building blocks that are inside now decay at 10% of their normal decay rate.

We’ll see some more on this update tomorrow.
