Bug fixes, bots are in and other small but welcomed improvements

This week we see some nice bug fixes, some other quality improvements ánd if all goes well… bots will be in-game.

One of the bug fixes is that explosive ammo has been fixed. It came to devs attention that it was not behaving as intended on garage doors and double doors. While they fixed that issue, they also changed it so you don’t need to aim away from target to deal maximum damage with explosive ammo.

We’ll also see a new ‘Report Cheat’ button after you die. It will open the standard Rust reporting page. Also the attacker name is more accurate and the issue where the name would say ‘Unknown’ might be fixed or better handled.

Admins can also abuse their power a bit more or (like we prefer to) use it to point out hackers a bit better. Players combatlogs are available for admins to view. If you own a server, you need this feature.

Also vending machines are fixed, as they will now most likely break when the foundation below it has been removed. This will most likely also fix the exploit where you would be able to build into the truck in the snow biome.

Botssssssss! Scientistsssssssss! NPCssssssssss! Whatever you like to call them, good chance they are in-game after the update. Devs are testing the bots now in the military tunnels. What this does to our battlefield server is unknown, but we’ll keep monitoring this.

And more?
Sure, Jack O Lanterns can no longer be placed through walls or picked up and it will only accept wood from now on. Optimizations to downloads of skins are done ánd more work has been done on the water well small monument. That will most likely be in-game after the next forced wipe (February 1).

Our servers will wipe tomorrow, we’ll announce the wipe some time before.
